Thomas Walter Burow, of Mount Hope, was called to his heavenly home on Friday morning, July 30, 2021, at the age of 74.

Thomas was born on Sept. 3, 1946, in Milwaukee, the son of Harold and Louise (Grau) Burow. He was united in marriage to Laurel “Laurie” Reich on Aug. 8, 1970, in Milwaukee. Laurie was called to her heavenly home on Aug. 17, 2015. Thomas married Linda Heckmann on June 16, 2018, in Prairie du Chien. He worked as an auto body technician until retiring in 2008. He had been recently employed at Kwik Trip of Prairie du Chien where he cared deeply for his fellow workers and customers. He enjoyed playing softball and competed competitively for 40 years. He also liked all forms of auto racing, camping, kayaking, dancing, and working outside on his property along with being a great handyman. He was also a forever fan of Elvis Presley. Tom was a former member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. He was presently serving on their church council, was Sunday School superintendent and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also currently the president for the Canyon Falls Road Committee. Tom’s greatest passion in life was his family. He loved having family time and was always a positive man. He will be remembered for always being that jokester but was dearly loved by all.

Thomas is survived by his wife Linda, of Mount Hope; four children, Chad (Lori) Burow of New Berlin, Amy (Damion) Glisper of Milwaukee, Leah (Kevin) Noel of Wauwatosa, and Clint (Carol) Burow of Beloit; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, William (Judy) Burow of New Berlin, and John (Barb) Burow of Hales Corners; five stepchildren, Jennifer (Linda McLaury) Heckmann of Waterloo, Iowa, Janette (Lewis) Byrnes of Waukon, Iowa, Joyelle (Mark) Meyer of De Soto, Iowa, Justin (Carrie) Heckmann of Waukon, Iowa, and Jodi (Tom Farley) Heckmann of Faribault, Minn.; five step-grandchildren along with many special nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Laurel “Laurie” Burow.

A memorial service was held at on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien with burial of cremated remains to be held at a later date in Milwaukee.

All the family and friends will dearly miss Thomas. The family wishes to thank his church family for their support. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien and to the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church Build Fund in South Beloit would be greatly appreciated. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family and online condolences may be made at larsonfuneralhomes.com.
