Local man suspected of maintaining drug house
On July 20, at 1 p.m., the Prairie du Chien Police Department executed a narcotics related search warrant at 521 S. Illinois Street.
During the search, investigators located hundreds of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills, synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash.
The owner of the residence, Richard L. McElroy, 51, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail. Charges of possessing a schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession with intent to manufacture synthetic cannabinoids greater than 1,000 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, and maintaining a drug home have been referred to the Crawford County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges and arrests may occur.
