Henry Augustine Mueller, 91, of Garnavillo, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services were Monday, July, 19, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Garnavillo, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries and Deacon Pfaffly. Visitation was before services at the church.

Interment was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo.

Henry was born in Garnavillo, on July 28, 1929, the son of Herman and Margaret (Harter) Mueller.

Henry attended Catholic school in Garnavillo and completed eighth grade. On May 21, 1957, Henry married the love of his life Rosemary Alvina Meyers, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg.

Henry is remembered for loving his family and life. He was a dairy farmer and took pride in his herd and working the land. Henry also worked for Patz Equipment where he put in barn cleaners and did cement work. He spent hours doing custom cornstalk stacking. Henry is remembered for his woodworking talent, especially his clock making skills. He enjoyed playing euchre, 500, dice and rummikub with his family. Henry traveled near and far to attend all the sporting events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He traveled around the United States, often driving the RV. He enjoyed and took pride in mowing his lawn. He pitched slow-pitch softball, enjoyed horseback riding and buggy rides with Candy his horse. Henry taught all of his children snow skiing at Mt. LaCrosse. He loved country music and attending stock car races. His sense of humor and jokes kept all of us in stitches.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Rosemary; children, Deb (Ron) Petzold of Carol Stream, Ill., Dave (Dawn) Mueller of Garnavillo, Sharon (Steve Kieler) Nesteby of Dubuque, Shirley (Jerry) Christianson of Garnavillo, Joan (Steve) Parker of Garnavillo, Ken (Doris) Mueller of Guttenberg, Jeff (Rachel) Mueller of Postville; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lois Mueller.

Henry was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Mueller; daughter in-law, Cindy Mueller; his parents; siblings, Dorothy (Hubert) Berns, Herman (Theresa) Mueller, Margaret (Hans) Schlueter, Florentine (Leo) Bries and Harold Mueller.

In lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy the family wishes that all memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
