Three MFL MarMac softball players have earned Upper Iowa all-conference honors. Junior Lauren Haberichter was named to the first team, while senior Abby Koslowski and sophomore Ashley Shaw received honorable mention nods.
Haberichter was the team’s ace, and accumulated a stellar stat line despite missing the second half of the season. She racked up 158 strikeouts, placing her 12th best in Class 2A. She hit that mark in just 82.2 innings pitched, at least 30 fewer innings than the other top pitchers. The strikeout total was also best in the Upper Iowa Conference, ahead of the 139 by Kee’s Reagan Mudderman, who earned that over 142 innings.
Haberichter tallied nine double-digit strikeout performances, and threw a no-hitter against Postville on June 9. She finished the season with a 3-11 record and 3.39 ERA, which was fourth best in the conference, while holding opponents to a .271 batting average.
At the plate, Haberichter had a .213 batting average in 47 at bats, picking up 10 hits—three of which were doubles. She also had eight RBIs.
Koslowski played in 35 games for the Bulldogs. As the team’s catcher, she secured 198 put outs—second best in the conference—and had a .943 fielding percentage.
Offensively, Koslowski boasted a .277 batting average, which was second best among MFL MarMac’s regular starters, as well as a .320 on base percentage. She netted 26 hits, including seven doubles, and drove in 13 runs, tying for third on the team in that category.
Over 34 games, Shaw amassed a team-high .300 batting average along with a .385 on base percentage. She racked up 27 hits, including three doubles and two triples, and walked 10 times. Shaw was tied for third on the team with 13 RBIs and scored a team-high 28 runs. Her seven stolen bases were also tops among Bulldog players.
