Blayke L. Beers, 12, of Steuben, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident near his home.

He was born Dec. 19, 2008, in Richland Center, the son of Kirk and Jen (Flansburgh) Beers. He attended Wauzeka-Steuben Elementary School where he enjoyed his time with his friends. He loved playing baseball, fishing, swimming, farming, and field work with his adult friends. Blayke was a hard worker, always helping around the family farm and serving as his dad’s right-hand man. Together, they enjoyed watching sports and spending time with one another. Blayke always had a smile on his face and always got the most out of life. He lived a fuller life in 12 years than most do in a lifetime.

Blayke is survived by his parents who loved him more than life itself, Kirk and Jen; his siblings who thought the world of him, Ryan and Kayla Beers; his uncles, Brad Beers, Eric Flansburgh, and Jerry (Kelsey) Huber; his aunt, Darcy (Ronnie) Mohr; his paternal grandmother, Ann Beers; his maternal grandfather, Fletcher Flansburgh; his cousins, Zach, Kyler, Brooke, Lexii, Hartley, and Hadley; his two best friends, Jake Kramer and Josh Martin; his special friend, Doug Sanders; and the Wauzeka-Steuben 6th grade class.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leon Beers; his maternal grandmother, Julie “Marmo” Flansburgh; his uncle, Cary Beers; his maternal great-grandparents, Virginia (Bartley) Ellenbolt; his maternal great-grandfather, Avery Flansburgh; and his great-great-grandparents Thelma (Noel) Gander and Francis (Leone) Beers.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at Century Hall, Pastor Lance Wetter officiating with burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery, both in Wauzeka. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Friday, July 16, from 4 to 8 pm. and at Century Hall one hour prior to services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
