Man charged with fourth OWI

A 37-year-old Garnavillo, Iowa man has been charged in Crawford County court with one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (fourth offense). Adam Knaack faces up to a $10,000 fine and six years in prison if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, Knaack was pulled over by a Prairie du Chien police officer for not having his vehicle’s headlights on. He staggered as he exited his vehicle to perform field sobriety tests, the complaint said.
Knaack’s preliminary breath sample was .165 alcohol concentration, the complaint said. Knaack was previously convicted of OWI in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
