PdC wrestlers at Northern Plains

The Northern Plains Regional Championships were held on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 at the Woodside Sportsdome in Wisconsin Dells. This is one of six regional championships throughout the US that are used as qualifiers for the 2021 USA Wrestling Junior and 16U Nationals, which are held in Fargo, North Dakota from July 16-July 23 for the Junior and 16U age groups.
The states that make up the Northern Plains for wrestling are North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
To qualify for Nationals, a wrestler has to place in the top four of their respective weight classes in their age groups, or in the top three of their State Tournament. Prairie du Chien was represented by three wrestlers, Matt Rogge, Rhett Koenig, and Luke Kramer.
Saturday was Freestyle competition, and Rhett Koenig secured a 3rd place finish in the 120# 16U weight class.
Sunday was Greco Roman competition. In the 160# Junior weight class, Rogge won a title with a 1st place finish. Koenig finished in 2nd place in the 120# 16U weight class. Kramer finished in 6th place in the 145# 16U weight class.
