Corrine “Cookie” Heisz (nee Hull) of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the age of 80.

She was born in Antigo, to George and Myrtle (nee Plopper) Hull on Oct. 9, 1940. She married Francis “Frank” Heisz on Feb. 23, 1981, in Milwaukee. Cookie and her husband moved to Prairie du Chien and made their life there for over 35 years. After Frank passed in 2019, Cookie moved to Port Washington to be closer to her family. Cookie was a gifted artist and crafter who created many amazing Halloween costumes, quilts, stamped greeting cards and other mementos for family and friends. She especially loved doing crafts with her grandchildren. Cookie loved to shop—especially rummage sales and antique shops—where she always managed to find something for friends or family. She loved to bake and was often asked to make her chocolate mint brownies, pumpkin squares, or apples pie bars for one community gathering or another (or maybe just for her and Frank). At the center of all of this was her huge heart, amazing generosity, mischievous sense of humor, and unending love for her family. Cookie loved to love on others. That is her legacy and that is what we will remember and miss about her.

Cookie is survived by her son, Kevin (LeAnn) Kuhagen and their daughters Lydia and Natalie. She is further survived by a beloved stepdaughter, Kim (Gary) Olson, and beloved stepsons Ricky (Elise) Heisz, Clay Heisz, and Shaun Heisz; four grandchildren; five great grand-children, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cookie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Heisz; as well as her parents and six brothers and sisters.

A private family service will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations in Corrine’s honor are suggested to the Alzheimers Association or Humane Society of Wisconsin.

The Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at eernissefuneral home.com
