Have you ever wanted to help your community? The MarMac Rescue Squad is looking for individuals to join the service. The volunteer service offers compensation for crew per call taken, and has a ride along program for individuals who want to see what EMS is all about and decide if it is right for them. MarMac Rescue Squad will handle class expenses for the right person interested in becoming an EMT/first responder. All positions require a valid drivers license, completion of a background check, CPR certification and AED and Lucas Device training (provided by the service).

Positions include:

Driver: On-the-job training provided by the service. EVOC course required every five years, which is set up with Iowa State Patrol and scheduled by the service. All members are required to take it. Duties include responding to calls and transporting patients, knowledge of equipment in the ambulance, cleaning and assisting providers on calls.

EMR/First Responder: EMR course through Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) approved program. Duties include providing patient care, driving to and from calls, cleaning and required call documentation.

EMT: EMT course through IDPH approved program. As well as above listed requirements, duties include providing lead patient care, required call documentation, cleaning and driving to and from calls when necessary.
