The Central boys track and field season is over for all but senior James Eberhardt, who won the discus at the district meet at Edgewood-Colesburg on May 13, punching his ticket to state.

Eberhardt won the event with a personal best distance of 134 feet, 10 inches, and will try to replicate the success in Des Moines on May 21.

He also tried to qualify in shot put, but finished 11th in the event, while teammate Ryan Schroeder was 17th.

Overall, the Warriors finished 12th at districts with a total of 22 points. Seven personal and season bests were accomplished at the meet.

One of those season bests came in the 100 meter dash, where Schroeder finished 16th with a time of 13.41, and Storm Huinker finished 17th. Corey Weber added a personal best time of 25.37, along with a seventh place result, in the 200 meter dash, while Sabastian Florek crossed the line in 15th. In the 400 meter dash, Hunter Grimm earned a personal best time of 1:07.59, which was good for 20th place.

The boys competed in just one hurdle race, with Sean Wilwert finishing  fourth with a time of 17.82 in the 110 meter event.

In the relays, Central made improvements in the 800 sprint medley, where Elliot Kelly, Lane Orr, Wilwert and Weber ran the race in 1:46.71, which was a new season best, and placed 10th. The team added a fourth place finish in the 4x110 shuttle hurdle relay behind Kelly, Weber, Dan McGreal, and Wilwert. In the 4x200, Kelly, McGreal, Orr and Weber combined for ninth, while the team of Kelly, McGreal, Orr and Florek crossed the line in 11th in the 4x100.
