Bulldog golfers face off against Turkey Valley and North Fayette Valley

Haylee Guyer shot a 73 at the April 26 meet, then improved her score to a 66 on April 29.

The MFL MarMac boys golf team won its fourth straight meet on April 26, defeating Turkey Valley 192-204 at Tri City Golf Club.


Trojan golfer Garrett Kurtenbach shot a 38 and was the meet medalist, while Bulldog Braden Landt continued to impress with a score of 41, earning himself runner up status.


Gavin Meana finished the day at 47, while Joe Grau and Jonah Wille both shot 52s. Collin Henkels and Sawyer Keehner came in at 57, Nick Krambeer at 59, Will Koether at 66, Blake Lamborn at 67 and Jaxton Schroeder at 69.


Turkey Valley was able to pull out a victory on the girls side, however, besting the Bulldogs 220-257. Trojan Ali Hoffert was the meet medalist thanks to a score of 48. The runner up was Bulldog Rose Grau, who shot a 53.


Other MFL MarMac scores included a 58 from Miranda Lang, 73s from Haylee Guyer and Chylie Feuerhelm and an 81 by Mallory Lang.


Both the boys and girls finished out the week April 29, at North Fayette Valley. The TigerHawks were victorious on both sides, taking the boys meet 183-197 and the girls meet 232-267. 


NFV also boasted the top two boys and girls golfers, with Nicholas Koch and Andrew Schmitt being the boys medalist and runner up with respective scores of 43 and 46. Rayne Everitt and Claire Britt shot a 52 and 55 to earn medalist and runner up status for the girls.


Meana had the best day for the MFL MarMac boys, shooting a 47. He was followed closely by Landt with a 48 and Grau with a 50. Wille had a score of 52, Ben Miene a 53 and Krambeer a 58, while Keehner came in at 61, Koether at 65 and Henkels at 66. Schroeder and Lamborn both shot 68s.


Miranda Lang tallied the top score for the lady Bulldogs, with a 58. Guyer finished the meet at 66 and Feuerhelm at 69. Grau shot a 74 and Mallory Lang an 83.


This week’s schedule includes a meet at South Winn on May 3, then one against Postville at Tri City Golf Club on May 6.
