Prairie du Chien baseball beats West Salem
Nine runs in the first inning led Prairie du Chien Blackhawks past West Salem 13-4 on Tuesday. Aden McCluskey, Chase Fisher, Tyler Wagner, Brady Russell, Owen Oldenburg, and Colton Thompson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. The Blackhawks got things started in the first inning when McCluskey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Garett Young was credited with the victory. The right-hander allowed seven hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out two. Jon Nicholson threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. McConkey took the loss for West Salem. The bulldog allowed three hits and eight runs. West Salem collected eight hits.
Nicholson went 3-for-6 at the plate to lead in hits.
