Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben ready to play spring football
The Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben High School football team has been practicing and is ready to begin its spring season.
The Blue-Golds will play a five-game schedule this spring, and all fans are welcome. There are no restrictions for spectators.
The conference for this spring will include Bangor, Necedah, New Lisbon, Brookwood, Cashton, Royall, Riverdale, and Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben.
The first practice was held March 8, and the team has had to work some of its practices around snow and other winter/spring type weather.
Last season, the team won its third straight Ridge and Valley Conference title and is looking forward to competing well again this season.
“Our defensive backfield is very solid with a lot of game experience and height, which will make it difficult for teams to pass well against us,” said Head Coach Justin Goodrich.
Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben is now in its sixth season of their co-op, and will compete in the Scenic Bluffs Conference this spring.
The schedule is as follows:
Date Opponent Location Time
3-26 Bangor A 7 p.m.
4-1 Brookwood Wauzeka-Steuben 7 p.m.
4-9 Cashton Seneca 7 p.m.
4-16 Necedah A 7 p.m.
4-23 New Lisbon A 7 p.m.
