Eli Dymitri Randall, 53, of Chicago, Ill., passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 after a three-week battle with COVID-19.

Eli was born on Dec. 15, 1967, to Raymond and Renee Randall of Chicago. He grew up in Wauzeka, on the family farm, where he loved spending time in the woods. After graduating from Wauzeka High School in 1986, he went on to study at William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Eli married his high school sweetheart, Vickie McCarthy, in 1994, going on to have four beautiful children. As an outdoorsman, Eli devoted 25 years of volunteer time to The Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club, including eight years as president. Most recently, he was Director of Records for the Pope & Young Club. Eli was an avid sportsman; he loved any time he could spend outdoors. In 1995, he placed in the Wisconsin whitetail deer records, taking home the #1 typical buck in Crawford County—it was the buck of a lifetime. Devoting time to his family was Eli’s greatest achievement. He coached baseball, softball, and was very active in his sons’ pursuits in the Boys Scouts, hosting many events and helping the boys become Eagle Scouts. Being a farm boy at heart, he bought his own farm near the family farm in Wauzeka.

Eli Dymitri Randall had a heart of gold. He was polite, kind and full of generosity. He stood by his beliefs and helped others. He also had a singular wit and loved to joke. The world lost a beautiful soul and left a huge hole in our hearts.

Eli is survived by his wife, Vickie; four children, Zachary Randall (Olphie Marie Untang), Brandon Randall, Hannah Randall and Emily Randall; mother, Renee Randall; father, Raymond (Fiona) Randall; three sisters, Simone Randall, Sarah (Paul) Thompson, and Dana Randall; nieces, Natasha (Ryan) Beck, Lillian Thompson; nephews, Isaac Randall, Ian Thompson; and great-nephew Jack Beck. He was also very close with his extended family, including many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Services will be Sunday, March 14, with visitation at Century Hall in Wauzeka from noon to 4 p.m., a prayer service at 3 p.m. Monday, March 15, and burial at Cemetery Hill in Wauzeka. Following CDC regulations for group gatherings, guests will need to mask and social distance. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made on Go Fund Me: search Eli Randall. Cards may be sent to The Randall Family, 5858 W. Waveland, Chicago, Ill. 60634.
