Three Central boys basketball players were Upper Iowa all-conference selections this season. Hazen Loan was named to the second team, while Evan Pensel and Parker Vaughn were  both honorable mentions.

 

Loan was Central’s leader in the locker room and on the court this season. He started all 22 games and led the team in scoring with 291 points, in rebounds with 145 and in three-point shooting at 33.1 percent. He was also tied for the team lead with 10 blocks. Additionally, Loan finished the season with 28 assists and 17 steals and shot an astounding 41.4 percent from the field, which was good enough for third on the team. 

 

Pensel was Loan’s main running mate. He also started all 22 games and led the team in assists with 63 and steals with 31. He finished second in points with 157 and third in rebounds with 67. He also added two blocks while shooting 29.3 percent from the floor and 25.8 percent from behind the arc. 

 

Vaughn was a workhorse, starting all 22 games. He finished with 136 points, 53 rebounds and 16 steals. He was second on the team in assists with 41, while shooting 37.2 percent from the field and 30 percent from three-point distance.
