Ball, Meana earn honorable mention nods
MFL MarMac boys basketball players Cayden Ball and Gavin Meana have both received Upper Iowa all-conference honorable mention nods for their senior seasons.
Ball averaged 9.5 points for the Bulldogs and was the team’s second leading scorer. He hit 40.9 percent of his shots, as well as 35.9 percent of attempts from behind the arc. His 47 three-pointers were the highest total on the team. Additionally, Ball dished out 57 assists, or 2.7 assists per game, which was second most among MFL MarMac players. He also nabbed 18 steals, or .8 per game, tying him for second on the team, and had the second most blocks, with four total.
Over 22 games, Meana contributed 8.2 points per contest, making him MFL MarMac’s third highest scorer. Like Ball, many of his points came from three-pointers. Meana made 32.1 percent of his attempts from behind the arc, or 35 overall, which was second highest on the team. His stat line also included 21 assists, an average of 1 per game, putting him third among Bulldog players. He was among team leaders in steals as well, with 16.
