PdC-F gymnasts host River Valley-Barneveld
On Monday night, the PdC-Fennimore gymnastics team hosted River Valley-Barneveld for their first conference meet of the year.
Vault was the first event of competition. Madilyn Fisher led the team, placing second with an 8.125 and Avery Thompson not far behind scoring an 8.0.
Bars was the gymnasts second event. Madilyn Fisher led the team with her season best routine placing first with a score of 8.3. Bars is usually the most difficult event for the PdC/Fennimore team. The girls are continuing to learn new skills on the bars to make their routines worth more.
Next, the girls competed on the Balance Beam. Alyssa Schoepp led the team, placing second with a score of 8.55. Madilyn Fisher was not far behind, placing fourth with a score of 7.85. Freshman Leilani Pflueger competed on varsity for the first time on beam and completed a new dismount for the first time and stuck it.
The team struggles to stay on the beam. Their scores will improve greatly once they get their nerves under control and stay on the beam.
Their final event was the Floor Exercise. Madilyn Fisher led the team placing first with a score of 8.65, Alyssa Schoepp was not far behind, tying for third place with a score of 8.275. Freshman Madison Otts had her season personal best score of a 7.725 with much improved jumps and leaps. Madilyn Fisher placed first in All-Around with a score of 32.925.
River Valley took the win with a score of 126.125. PdC/Fennimore scored 121.025 for a season best high score.
