Donna Lee (Behrends) Tenhoff, 72, left her earthly home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, due to complications from COPD. She was born on July 21, 1948, in Monticello, the daughter of Glenn and Bernice (Wenger) Behrends. Donna worked for several area Manchester businesses and retired from Rockwell Collins in Manchester after 23 years of employment. 

Survivors include her two sisters, Bev (Richard) Becker and Grace (Dale) Zimmerman; two sisters-in-law, Liz Hintz Kurtz and Pam Behrends; two nieces, Robin Casey and Becky Burger; seven nephews, Greg and Todd Rickels, Tim and Scott Zimmerman and Kelly, Shawn and Adam Behrends; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Also left to honor her memory are one “great-grandson,” Christopher Strausser; her special aunt, Betty Gress; special friends, Don and Nancy Trainer and family and Toby, Michele, Kenze, Kielyn and Kaci Tutton; and many other friends and family.

Donna was preceded in death by her two sons, Chris and Ben Tenhoff; two brothers, Don and Tom Behrends; a niece, Rachel; as well as her parents, Glenn and Bernice Behrends of Monticello; along with many other family members and friends.

Donna wanted to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and to her night-time help for all that they did for her. A special thanks also to the St. Croix Hospice team, Home Health Care and to her many friends who assisted her during her illness. She said, “Thanks from the bottom of my heart!”

Memorials may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Manchester United Methodist Church Building Fund.  

A private memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 4, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with Rev. Phil Rogers officiating. Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are required at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
