Wednesday, Dec. 23, was a historic day at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital and Clinics when vaccinations for COVID-19 began for the staff. The first dose went to Dr. Michele Dikkers, a physician at Cornerstone Family Practice and GMHC who also serves as the chair of the Clayton County Board of Health.

"I did it! I received my COVID-19 vaccine today, and it did not hurt," said Dr. Dikkers. "My Christmas gift for the year. I look forward to 2021 and the time when all of our patients have been vaccinated."

As vaccinations become available, GMHC will announce how and when to get them. Meanwhile, everyone is urged to continue to wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance.
