Five MFL MarMac volleyball players have earned Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) all-conference honors. Riley Moreland and Lexy Johnson were both named to the first team and Kayden Gillitzer to the second team, while Lakota Morrissey and Grace Anderson picked up honorable mention nods.

Moreland, a junior, was one of only three UIC players who was a unanimous selection. She played in all 19 of MFL MarMac’s matches this season, earning 165 kills—best on the team and second most in the conference. She was also the Bulldogs’ best blocker, with 32 total—a mark that put her fourth among UIC players. Her 19 solo blocks were the third-highest conference total. In addition, Moreland tallied 170 digs (second on the team) and 55 assists (third on the team), and was MFL MarMac’s most efficient server. She completed 91.8 percent of attempts, including 27 aces.

Johnson was the Bulldogs’ biggest back row presence this year, racking up 298 digs. That put her first on the team and first in the UIC, 21 digs ahead of the next-closest player. The senior was also a key server for MFL MarMac, making 81.4 percent of attempts as well as a team-high 31 aces.

Gillitzer, also a senior, earned 79 kills this season, putting her second among Bulldog players. Her stat line included eight blocks and 71 digs, in addition to an 82.7 percent serve efficiency. She picked up 12 aces.

Morrissey was MFL MarMac’s assist leader, with 180. That total also placed her ninth in the conference. The junior dug out 53 balls and boasted an 88.5 percent serve efficiency, including 10 aces.

Anderson, a sophomore, was third on the team with 30 kills and second with 24 total blocks. She was fifth in the conference in that category, as well as fifth in solo blocks, with 13. Defensively, she also racked up 20 digs.
