Cheryll Scherf
Cheryll Scherf, 85, of Farmersburg, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at the Elkader Care Center in Elkader. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Wagner Township Cemetery in Farmersburg. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Manchester is assisting the family.
Cheryll was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Oelwein, the daughter of Dale and Marie (Shaw) Kramer. She graduated from Guttenburg High School. On Jan. 18, 1954, Cheryll was united in marriage to Eldean Scherf. She worked as a bookkeeper for Farmersburg Implement and at St. Olaf Tavern with her daughters. Cheryll enjoyed listening to music, crosswords and baking for her family. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Cheryll is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Jeff (Jane) Scherf of Anamosa; two daughters, Julie (Herb) Morley of Farmersburg and Jane (Jeremy) Clark of Lamont; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jillian, Jacob, Carson, Kaylee, Brennon and Brady; four great-grandchildren, Cade, Kennedy, Madison and Morgan; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldean Scherf on Dec. 22, 2010; and great-granddaughter, McKenzie Ward.
