Prairie soccer at River Valley
It was a beautiful day on the pitch as River Valley hosted Prairie du Chien for a conference boys soccer match.
River Valley, led by a group of six seniors, came out attacking, and Prairie du Chien held them off for the first nine minutes with tenacious defense and solid positioning.
River Valley's experience and depth ultimately wore Prairie du Chien down, with a constant deluge of shots bringing the score to 8-0 at halftime.
River Valley scored twice more in the second half, with the game ending by River Valley prevailing over Prairie du Chien 10-0.
Despite a lopsided score, Prairie du Chien’s young team demonstrated grit and determination, with notable defensive performances by sophomore Creighton Groom, freshmen Adam Anderson and Lance Koresh, and juniors Justice Olmstead and Duke Scherf. Sophomore goalkeeper Logan Higgins had a busy night making 18 saves.
