MFL MarMac baseball team has five Upper Iowa all-conference selections

The MFL MarMac baseball team had five of its players selected to the 2020 Upper Iowa all-conference teams. Cedrick Drahn received first-team honors, while JT Stocker and Ethan Stubbs were named to the second team. Kaleb Tilson and Karter Decker picked up honorable mention status.

Drahn, the team’s senior shortstop, hit .346 in 52 at bats for the Bulldogs. He tallied 18 hits (including a home run) and 13 walks, and had a .507 on-base percentage—tied for fourth best in the conference. Drahn was second on the team in RBIs, with 12, stole 11 bases and scored 18 runs.

On the mound, Drahn pitched a team-high 26.2 innings, going 3-1 with a 3.15 ERA. Opponents were held to a .250 batting average, and he struck out 30 batters, which was fourth most in the conference.

Stocker, also a senior, had 60 at bats for the Bulldogs, earning a .433 batting average, which was the third highest Upper Iowa total. He was fifth in the conference in hits, with 26, including three doubles and two triples. Stocker also had a team leading 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored. His 17 steals were fourth best in the conference.

Defensively, the center fielder had a .973 fielding percentage and committed just one error. 

Stubbs was a key contributor to the Bulldog offense, hitting .311 in 61 at bats. His 19 hits were second most on the team, and he led the conference with 24 steals. Stubbs scored 17 runs.

The senior catcher was also big behind the plate, earning a .974 fielding percentage—fifth best in the conference. He committed just three errors and was fourth in the Upper Iowa with 96 put outs.

On the mound, Stubbs pitched 13 innings for the Bulldogs, going 2-1 with a 4.31 ERA. Opponents batted just .191 and struck out 10 times.

Tilson, a senior, was another of MFL MarMac’s top pitchers, with a 2.52 ERA over 25 innings. His five wins were tied for second most in the conference. He held teams to a .240 batting average and racked up 21 strikeouts, which was second most among Bulldog pitchers.

Decker hit .333 in 36 at bats during his freshman season. He earned 12 hits, including three doubles, and drove in eight runs. Decker also stole eight bases and scored 10 times.
