Barbara Laverne Baker, 82, of Elgin, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She was born Jan. 5, 1938, to John and Alberta (Koester) Jarm in Chicago, Ill. Barbara grew up in Des Plaines, Ill. She earned her associate degree in biology.

Barbara was united in marriage with Thomas Baker on Aug. 18, 1956, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Des Plaines, Ill. Three children were born to this union.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Kathleen (Kenneth) Butzen of Minong, Wis., Mark (Nora Short) Baker of Dayton, Minn., and Michael (Stephanie) Baker of Trophy Club, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicole Fisher (Mitch), Matthew (Bethany) Butzen, Lauren Reagan (Scott), Robbie Slay and Stephanie Baker (Jake Miller); and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding Barbara in death were her son, Keith Baker, and parents, John and Alberta Jarm.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Marion Lutheran Cemetery, Gunder.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, is assisting the family with arrangements.
