Lawrence F. Morovits died Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Larry was born on Oct. 27, 1942, in Eastman, to Frank and Agnes (Heisz) Morovits. After graduating from Seneca High School, Larry joined the Navy and served as a SeaBea for two years, much of that time stationed in Thailand. In 1969, he married Linda Osterberg and together they had two children. Larry started Eastman Electric with his brothers and spent his life as an electrician in the Eastman area. He loved woodworking and spent a great deal of time over the years in his shop working on all kinds of projects. He was especially proud of the gun cabinets he made for many local raffles and all of the various items he made for his grandchildren over the years. He loved to hunt and fish and, any time he could do either of those things, he did. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan; never missed a game. He loved to hang out at The Pack Shack with the crew (Stooch, Radloff, Pile, Moron, Sparky, Tater, Greg and the rest) for all Packers games. Larry was proudly a lifelong member of the Eastman community. In his younger days, he served as president of the village board and was on the fire department. He was vice president of the Community Club and the Ball Association, as well as a member of the Eastman Softball Hall of Fame, to name a few. Larry was a very proud grandfather. He never missed a ball game, band performance, or musical that his grandchildren were involved in. He loved to travel and was lucky to take several trips with his brother, Clifford, before he passed away. Larry had a saying for every occasion and a nickname for many people. He was a supportive father who always encouraged his children to do their best and never doubted us.

Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda; his children, Tracy (Dick) Feye of Prairie du Chien, Paul (Christine Hendricks) of Madison; his grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Abby, and Vince Feye; his brother, LaVern (Roxanne), of Eastman; sister, Joanne Zilmer, of Boscobel; and Billy (Linda) of Gillette, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Morovits, his step-father, George Morovits; his brothers, Richard and Clifford, his sister-in-law Kimi Morovits; his brother-in-law, Clyde Zilmer; and his beloved niece, Tonya Moravits Hill (Potlicker).

Per Larry’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
