Gloria G. Priem
Gloria Gayle Priem, 86, of Garnavillo, died Monday, May 4, 2020, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg.
Due to the COVID-19 concerns, there will be a private family service and interment. The family plans to hold a public memorial at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo.
Gloria was born Sept. 20, 1933, to Milo and Vella (Boardman) Decker she was one of seven children in her family. She graduated from Garnavillo High School.
On March 15, 1953, Gloria married the love of her life, Dean Priem, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. They were married for 52 years when Dean passed away in 2006. She worked as a server/bartender for many years at the Kountry Manor. In recent years Gloria enjoyed knitting dish towels/dish scrubbers for friends and family and often times you would receive one as a gift. Gloria also could be found doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles or reading a book.
Gloria will always be remembered by her two children, Cathy McLane and Robert (Joyce) Priem; grandchildren, Jared (fiancé, Cheri) Werger, granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Werger, Travis (Amy) Priem, Brandon (Ashley) Priem, Shawna Priem; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Judy Waddell; one brother Charles Decker, many other nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Jeff Werger; sister, Fay Thein; three brothers, Leslie Decker, John Decker, Milo (Chip) Decker; infant grandson, David Priem.
In lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy the family requests memorials be given to St. Croix Hospice, 101 Elkader St., Strawberry Point, IA 52076.
