Register, Times merge next week
The North Iowa Times and Clayton County Register will merge into a single publication with a shared masthead beginning with next week’s May 6 edition.
The move will better serve readers and advertisers by combining both newspapers’ coverage areas and providing more news about county and local governments, schools, businesses, events and the unique people who call Clayton County home. Audrey Posten, who has been editor of the North Iowa Times in McGregor for nearly seven years, will serve as editor of the combined publication. She will continue to cover news in and around the communities of Marquette, McGregor, Monona, Farmersburg and Luana, as well as the MFL MarMac School District. She will also work with new reporter Willis Patenaude to cover the Elkader area and the Central School District. Pam Reinig, editor of the Clayton County Register for 10 years, is retiring.
The North Iowa Times-Clayton County Register will continue to publish weekly, each Wednesday. The publication will also be available online at northiowatimes.com and claytoncountyregister.com.
