Justin Reuter
Justin Kenneth Reuter, 30, of McGregor, and formerly of Bloomington, Wis., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at the Guttenberg Hospital following his courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 21, 1988, as Justin Kenneth Lange to Diane Lange, and later became Justin Reuter when Diane married Cory Reuter in 1993.
He attended and graduated from River Ridge High School in 2007, where he was involved in football and baseball. He enjoyed playing softball with a family team in the summers, fishing, hunting, playing guitar (which he taught himself), and trips to the sandbars. His newest hobby was hunting treasures from the banks of the Mississippi River and making crafts from the driftwood he collected. Justin’s most recent job was working for McGregor Roofing, where he enjoyed seeing a finished project and working with some great people.
Justin married Jennifer Meng in 2010. They welcomed his first born, Sylas Kenneth, into the world on Nov. 23, 2010. They later divorced, however. His second love came into his life earlier than expected on July 6, 2013, and brought his second child, Madison Mae, into the world. She was born early and brought a new ray of sunshine into his life. Both Sylas and Madison have their daddy’s huge heart, contagious smile and overall love of life. Unfortunately, they both also inherited his trademark stubbornness that will not be forgotten. Justin met and made many friends in his short time here who will all remember him in their own way.
Justin is survived by his two children, Sylas of Ladysmith, Madison of Prairie du Chien; mother Diane Lange (Torey Bartels); step-dad Cory Reuter (Bobbi Jo Kramer); sister Stephanie (Eric) Vogt; brother Samuel Reuter; stepbrothers Blake and Brady Bartels; grandmothers Colleen Reuter and Velma Steele; a special cousin/brother Ryan (Heather) Lange; uncles and aunts David (Jennifer) Lange, Deb (Jim) McCluskey, Duane (Heather) Lange, Chad Reuter; niece and nephew Kylee and Paul Vogt, and numerous cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by Stacy Polodna and grandparents Rita Kay Lange, Charles “Peanut” Lange and Clarence “Zippy” Reuter.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the St. Croix hospice team and Guttenberg Hospital for their professional and exceptional care for Justin.
Services and visitation were held Saturday, Nov. 30, at First Congregational Church in McGregor.
