Allison Kennedy played good but not quite good enough in the WIAA Sectional tournament, played at the Prairie du Chien Country Club, to move on to the State Tournament at University Ridge in Madison.

The Ladyhawk golfer stayed focused throughout her round but struggled on the front nine shooting a 59. Allison started out fast on the back nine but got into some trouble along the way. She still improved her score with a 56 for a 115 total.

Playing in her first sectional, Allison handled the pressure extremely well and kept her composure throughout the round. The sectional experience will only make her better as she continues to mature and her game gets stronger and more consistent.

Top-ranked Edgewood-Sacred Heart won the sectional championship with a team score of 351 and will move on to Madison to defend last year’s Division 2 state title. Osseo-Fairchild/Fall Creek came in second with a team score of 403.

The three individual players to move on to state were Mary Hommen of Cambridge with a score of 89, Abby DeMoe of Cambridge with a 90, and Rylee Haines from Arcadia/Independence with a 95.
