It was a beautiful evening for soccer Tuesday at the Bluff View field versus powerhouse Platteville-Lancaster.

The pregame ceremony honored the dedication and hard work of the Prairie United Youth Soccer Program. Players from each team were escorted to center field for introductions and the National Anthem in true World Cup fashion, hand in hand with the youth players.

Unfortunately, the remainder of the evening was not as auspicious with the undefeated conference leader Platteville-Lancaster overpowering Prairie 10-0 in 88 minutes.

Despite the disparity, the Blackhawks stood strong throughout the entire contest.

The varsity reserve also fell, but gentler, 2-0.
