Frances Calista McLane, 97, of Guttenberg, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Memorial services were Monday, May 8, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.

Inurnment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Guttenberg.

Frances was born on the home farm near Luxemburg on Sept. 14, 1919, the daughter of John and Catherine (Reiff) Henkels.  

Frances attended the Catholic School near Luxemburg and was later married to Jerome McLane in 1941.  She worked for various restaurants for over 30 years.  Frances enjoyed playing cards, reading, making an occasional trip to the casino, spending time with family and she always walked to church every Sunday for Mass. 

Frances is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Marlene) McLane and Steve (Vicki) McLane both of Guttenberg; son-in-law, David Wright of Port Byron, Ill.; six grandchildren, Rod McLane, Mike (Christa) McLane, Tim Wright, Scott (Tammy) Wright, Matthew and Amy McLane; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, one in infancy and Lorna; four sisters, Coletta, Calista, Catherine and Bernice; six brothers, Ervin, Cletus, Aloysius, Gebhardt, Jerome and John.
