Sheila M. Noordhoek
Sheila Marie Noordhoek, 48, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home in Prairie du Chien.
Visitation was Friday, March 24, at Leonard Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 25, at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, conducted by Rev. Harold McMillin.
Burial was at Garnavillo City Cemetery, Garnavillo.
Shelia was born Oct. 3, 1968, to Lloyd and JoAnn (Wagner) Scherf in Prairie du Chien. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. Sheila graduated from Garnavillo High School and attended NICC in Calmar. She grew up in St. Olaf and Garnavillo. After her children were raised, Sheila moved to Prairie du Chien.
Sheila was united in marriage with Lee Berns in Las Vegas, Nev. Three children were born to this union. Sheila was later united in marriage with Michael Noordhoek on Aug. 6, 2014, in Elkader. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at G&G Living Centers, Guttenberg. Sheila was very social and loved everyone, she was very soft hearted and loved laughing at life and a good joke. In her spare time, Sheila enjoyed taking pictures, trap shooting, spending time with her cat, Lily, visiting family at the horse park and playing cards. Spending time with her children and grandchildren and long talks on the phone with her sisters were the highlight of her life. She had an infectious laugh.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Michael Noordhoek of Prairie du Chien; children, NaTasha Berns of St. Olaf, Dustin Berns of Garnavillo, Dalton Berns of Platteville, Wis., Bobby Rodenberg of Boscobel, Wis., Nichole (Jamie) Brownly of Muscoda, Wis., Travis Noordhoek of Delhi and Monique Noordhoek of Manchester; five grandchildren; her father, Lloyd Scherf of Harpers Ferry; four siblings, Teresa (Dennis) Doeppke of Harpers Ferry, Chris (Ann) Scherf of Marion, Diane (Nick Loucks) Walden of Colona, Ill., and Joel (Kelsey) Sherf of Waterville; nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Sheila was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Lucille Wagner; paternal grandparents, William and Viola Scherf; and grandmother-in-law, Elsie Noordhoek.
