Sixth seeded River Ridge beat visiting and 11th seeded Southwestern 64-53 in a WIAA Division 5 Regional boys basketball game Tuesday night.
Freshman Cole Crubel poured in a game-high 32 points to pace the Timberwolves.
The Wolves improved their overall record to 12-11 and advanced to Friday’s regional semifinal at third seeded Highland.
The Wolves have won six of their last seven games and defeated Highland recently in conference action.
Crubel is averaging 17 points per game this season. Gavin Steiber is averaging 10.8 and Ben Ertz is averaging 8.9.
