Andrew “Andy” Hubanks, 69, of Ottumwa, Iowa, died at 1:45 a.m. Feb. 8, at home.

 

He was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Prairie du Chien, to Robert and Adeline Ceplecha Hubanks. He married Roni Kasper on April 19, 1975. Andy had worked for 19 years for Cargill Meat Solutions, retiring in 2010.

 

Surviving are his wife, Roni; his children, Renee Hubanks, of Prairie du Chien, Andrea Hubanks, of Chanute, Kan., Amy Hubanks and Josey (Brooke) Hubanks, both of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Andrew Hilgemann, P.J. Tesar, Jaymee McClain and Jax Hamilton; his siblings, Melinda (Don) Moore, Robert (Debbie) Hubanks, Thomas (Peggy) Hubanks, Shane (Marsha) Hubanks, Cindy (Kevin) Henning, Patrick (Kris) Hubanks, Mindy (Wes) Horstmann and Renita (Mark) Groom; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Steve Hubanks. 

 

His body has been cremated and services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis & Wapello Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501. Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of arrangements.
