Stanley Norbert “Stan” Schulte

Stanley Norbert “Stan” Schulte, 57, of McGregor, formerly of New Albin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, at his home in McGregor. 

He was born on Aug. 20, 1959, to Norbert and Rita (Kelly) Schulte in Spring Grove, Minn. He graduated from Kee High School in 1977. Stan always enjoyed a good game of cards and playing bingo. He really enjoyed the many family trips to the cabin resorts in northern Minnesota, especially the long pontoon rides on the lakes. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Stan is survived by his father, Norbert Schulte, of New Albin; his brothers, Jim Schulte, of La Crescent, Minn., and Bill Schulte and his wife, Kelly, of Chanhassen, Minn.; sisters, Kelly Galema and her husband, Wayne, of Marshalltown, and Jody Garin, of Newhall; nieces and nephews, Darrin (Katelyn) Schulte, Derrek Schulte, Jesse Galema (Alyssa Hall-fiancée), Nathan (Elizabeth) Galema, Stacy Galema, Kory Schulte, Ryan Schulte, Kelsey Garin and Alyssa Garin; great-nephew, Jaxson Galema; aunts, Mary Jo Kelly, of Apple Valley, Minn., Jeanette McCormick, of Waukon, Jean Schulte, of Cedar Rapids, and Mary Schulte, of Caledonia, Minn.; uncle, Lloyd (Ruth Ann) Schulte, of Waukon; and many cousins.

Stan was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Schulte; sister, Mary Ellen Schulte; and brother-in-law, Randy Garin. 

Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Moser as the Celebrant. Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in New Albin. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, in Lansing, is helping the family with the arrangements.
