Randy Dee Aspenson
Randy Dee Aspenson, 57, of rural Mt. Sterling went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 28, 2016.
Randy was born on Sept. 22, 1959, to Carl and Ethel (Calhoun) Aspenson. In the winter of 1999, he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Randy farmed his whole life until he had no choice but to retire due to complications related to Lymes Disease (which he found out he had since he was a child). He tried many treatments, to rid his body of this disease without success.
When Randy was well, he enjoyed spending time with his mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousin Doug Olson. He enjoyed his time having coffee in “The Shed Office” just sitting and visiting with neighbors when they stopped in. On the Fourth of July, he would have picnics in his front yard where, he would have a campfire to roast hotdogs and marshmallows, play yard games and he always made sure to have plenty of fireworks for everyone to enjoy. He would make sure to invite his neighbors Norm and Joyce Fryseth and Larry Hanson to come and also Rod Lysne (Rod was one teacher from school Randy kept in touch with). They all enjoyed many laughs as they would reminisce about some of the hyjinx that Randy and his friends would get into. Randy also enjoyed looking at the sky through his telescope and he loved watching Dale Earnhardt race.
One of Randy’s greatest desires was, that all that he knew and loved would come to know his Savior as their Savior. There wasn’t a lot that Randy could do the last few years, but the one very important thing he did was to continually pray for his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel Aspenson; six brothers: Loren, Daryl (Carolyn), Byron (Jan), Ramon (Renee), Rodney (Debbie), and Jay (Jeanne); one sister Sherri Aspenson; and a brother-in-law Alan Parks. Also surviving are six nieces, 16 nephews, 12 great-nieces and 15 great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl Aspenson, his oldest sister Carol Parks and nieces Candice Aspenson and Kiley Aspenson.
A Funeral Service for Randy was held Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at the Maple Ridge Bible Church, 43955 County E Boscobel, at 3 p.m. Pastor Noel Mayes will officiate.
