Robert G. Bolsinger
Robert Glenn Bolsinger, 82, of Colesburg, died peacefully Oct. 22, 2016, at his home in Colesburg, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation was before services at the church.
Funeral services were Wednesday Oct. 26, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood, conducted by Rev. John Haugen. Lectors were Les Simons and Leo Roling. Eucharistic Minister was Carol Simons. Placing of the pall was done by Jeffery Bolsinger, Dawn Martin and Jennifer Hambright. Giftbearers were Mellyssa Smith and Steve Smith.
Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley. Casketbearers were Robert Martin, Chase Martin, Ryan Martin, Ed Bolsinger, Larry Block, Terry Bolsinger, Darwin Miller and Joe Hodges. Honorary pallbearers for Robert were Kenny Bolsinger, Chad Bolsinger, Brad Bolsinger, Emily Bolsinger, Christopher Bolsinger, Mellyssa Smith, Ashley Melchert, Jacob Bolsinger, SuzAnne Hambright, ShyAnne Hambright, Heaven Hambright, Mike Hambright Jr., Lillianna Bolsinger, Olivia Bolsinger, Aaron Smith, Mercedes Martin and Isiah Reagen.
The Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville was in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Graham, son of Clarence and Eleanor (Radabah) Bolsinger. He is a graduate of Colesburg High School. On Dec. 11, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sheila Divis in Asbury.
Robert and Sheila made their home in Dubuque until 1967, they then moved to Farley where they lived with their children and fostered several others through the years. During this time Robert worked at John Deere as an assembly line worker from 1969 -1995. Robert also owned and operated a small business of Bob's Saw Sharpening Shop and worked wood-working projects. In the summer of 1980 they moved to Colesburg. In the fall of 1981, Robert and Sheila owned and operated The Deluxe Café until they closed in October 1991.
Robert also served in the United States Army from 1957-1963.
He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Parish.
He is survived by his three children, Jeffery (Terri) Bolsinger of Greenville, S.C., Dawn (Jammie) Martin of Colesburg, Jennifer (Michael) Hambright of Elon, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, Chad Bolsinger, Brad (Ana) Bolsinger, Christopher Bolsinger, Emily Bolsinger, Robert (Tori) Martin, Chase Martin, Ryan Martin, Mellyssa (Steve) Smith, Jacob Bolsinger, SuzAnne Hambright, ShyAnne Hambright, Heaven Hambright, Michael Hambright Jr. and Ashley Melchert; five great-grandchildren, Liliana Bolsinger, Olivia Bolsinger, Mercedes Martin, Aaron Smith, Isaiah Regan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila, on June 4, 2014, his daughter Suzanne Elizabeth Bolsinger on Oct. 4, 1968, and his parents.
