Evaline G. (Holliday) Hewitt of Menomonie, age 84, passed away Friday September 9, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born July 27, 1932, in Barnum, to Johnethy Blaine and Agnes Ella (Johnston) Holliday. She married Earl D. Hewitt on Dec. 14, 1949, in Prairie du Chien. She worked in retail and restaurant establishments, and with her husband and family on the farms near Sheldon and then Bloomer. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting and crocheting and annual family trips to South Dakota and Wyoming.  

She loved games, was an avid and very shrewd player of Monopoly, Rap Poker, Uno and especially Yahtzee, with her family.

Evaline is survived by her daughters Karen (Don) Woods, of Menomonie, and Stephanie (Mark) Halbakken; sister Mabel Schultz; grandchildren Deanna (Jeff) Shane, Chad (Deb) Gunn, Travis (Sara) Gunn, Dorie Hernandez, Patrick (Amy Kromer) Halbakken, Matthew (Melissa Adams) Swallow, David and Kelsey Hewitt; great grandchildren Morgan (Alejandro Calzada) and Ryan (Nicole Graetz) Shane, Stephanie Hernandez, Hunter, Blaze and Arrow Halbakken, Kyleigh Wilson; and foster great grandson Carter Marquette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and 16 siblings.  

Private family services will be held at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
