The McGregor Achievement Club is looking for teams to participate in its first annual scavenger hunt, to be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m.

The scavenger hunt will include clues, bonuses, relays and tasks to be completed throughout McGregor. Teams can consist of up to four people. Participants must be 18 or older, unless accompanied by a parent. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to form or sponsor teams, but anyone can play; you do not have to be sponsored by a business.

Headquarters for the scavenger hunt will be at Josie’s River Queen. Details will be distributed at the start of the event. Afterward, prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with the most points.

“We were looking for a fundraiser, and a couple of our members have done private hunts before,” said McGregor Achievement Club member Anna Jones on how the scavenger hunt idea came about.

There is a registration fee, with all funds raised going to support community betterment projects.

Aside from helping the community, Jones said the scavenger hunt will also get people out in the community.

“This is a chance to highlight different areas of McGregor, to visit different places, businesses and things in McGregor,” Jones said.

If you have any questions, or would like to register a team, please contact members Anna Jones at (563) 880-1993, Kris Eulberg at (563) 516-1118 or Darci Jones at (563) 880-1994, or email Registration forms can also be picked up Josie’s River Queen, Riverview and Pocket City Pub.
