Florence V. Hurda, 89, of Wauzeka passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1927 at Barnum, Wis. to Ole and Jane (Dilley) Copus. She attended West Fork School. She was married on Sept. 14, 1946 in Wauzeka to John G. Hurda and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1990. Florence was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Wauzeka and was a member of the women’s Bible study there.

She is survived by her children, Rosemary (Ron) Rasmussen of Decorah, Valerie (Gene) Ward of Boscobel, Peggy (Terry) Tessar of Prairie du Chien, Margie (Joe) Keene of Boscobel, Michael (Judy) Hurda of Seneca, Patrick (Joan) Hurda of Wauzeka, Gregory (Susan) Hurda of Boscobel and many grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; grandchildren, Terry, Lacey and Kyle and a great grandson Miles.

Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Wauzeka with burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery.
