Rebekah Sue (Whitten) Spear died on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Guttenburg Care Center from injuries sustained in a fall.

Visitation was Wednesday, July 20, at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home.

Burial was at Garden of Memories, Waterloo.

Rebekah was born Aug. 31, 1939, daughter of Rex and Freeda (Seaton) Whitten at Allen Hospital, Waterloo. Rebekah was united in marriage to Donald Spear on March 28, 1959. She worked at the Black Hawk County Relief Office for 38 years, before retiring and moving to Guttenberg on the Mississippi River. Rebekah loved to travel, especially to Branson, Missouri. She liked to watch the birds and wild life.

Rebekah is survived by her husband, Don, of Guttenberg; one son, Mervin; an adopted sister, Doris Habbena; granddaughter, Donna; great-grandchildren, Micheal and Annika; and beloved cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
