Ideal Decorating store opens in Prairie du Chien

A new furniture and home decorating store is now open in Prairie du Chien. Ideal Decorating, housed in the south half of the former Kozelka’s Men’s Wear building, opened on Monday, June 27. 

Ideal Decorating offers a variety of furniture, lighting, accessories, rugs, artwork, mattresses and livingroom and bedroom decor.

“There will be more furniture, accessories and decor coming,” said Store Manager Julie Banker, who noted that Ideal Decorating is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed on Sundays.

Ideal Decorating is owned by Jon Scherbring and Kelly Milbert who also have Ideal Decorating stores in Guttenberg and Dyersville.

Some of the brand names for furniture at Ideal Decorating include Rowe, Southern Motion, Coaster, Riverside and Liberty. Mattresses are Spring Air. Two of the well-known brand names for rugs are Karastan and Loloi.

Banker said that Ideal Decorating has free delivery, 0 percent financing and product protection.

The building is owned by the Opportunity Center of Prairie du Chien which is leasing 6,200 square feet of space to Ideal Decorating. The Opportunity Center is working towards having a cafe and an adult day care in the north half of the building.
