Roberta L. “Bertie” Dillman
Roberta L. “Bertie” Dillman, 77, of McGregor, Iowa and formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, July 1, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, after an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 7, 1938 in Marquette, Iowa the daughter of Delmar and Alberta (Rigdon) Burroughs. Bertie was very proud of attaining her Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She worked as a guidance counselor for the Prairie du Chien School District for 20 years. Bertie was very active in the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien, Lutheran Social Services and the United Way. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
She is survived by her children, Craig Kaber of Marquette, and Shelly (Sean) Park of LaMesa, Calif.; her sister Linda (Reed) Kammerer of Menomonee Falls; her grandchildren, Paige and Brett Kaber and Henry and Kate Park. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ronald Burroughs.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, at 12 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien, Rev. Barb Cook officiating. A private family interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, July 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Prairie du Chien United Methodist Church. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
