3M program matches volunteerism
The 3M Volunteer Match Program recently donated $1,500 to the Prairie du Chien Fire Department on behalf of six 3M employees and retirees who contributed volunteer service as local firemen in 2015. The 3M Foundation matches 3M employees’ minimum 20 hours and retirees’ minimum 25 hours of service with a $250 grant to eligible nonprofits or schools. Employees Jim McCluskey, Brad Braun, Tim Deluhery, Phil Becwar and Jose Miranda, as well as retired employee Wayne Koecke, achieved those levels of volunteering. “We have a very good relationship between 3M and the fire department,” Deputy Fire Chief Deluhery said. “This program helps the department fill the gaps and obtain items it might not otherwise get.” This year’s grant will be used for training on skills such as extrication, confined space, and more.
