Top seeded Prairie du Chien defeated visiting and fourth seeded Iowa Grant 12-3 in a Division 3 Regional Semifinal baseball game Wednesday afternoon. The game had been postponed from Tuesday due to rain.
The Blackhawks erupted for 7 big runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Iowa Grant made a bit of a move by scoring 3 runs in the top of the second to cut the margin to 7-3.
Prairie du Chien scored 2 runs in the fourth and 3 more in the sixth en route to the 12-3 victory.
Brogan Potter was 3x4 with 1 RBI for the Blackhawks. Dylan Yeomans was 3x5 with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs. Casey Hogenson was 2x4 with 2 doubles. Hunter Sheckler was 1x3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Chas Sagedahl was 1x3 with an RBI. Peyton Hall had 3 RBIs. Chad Mara was 1x3 with an RBI.
Cory Check picked up the mound win. He allowed 1 hit, fanned 7 and walked 2 in 5 1/3 innings. Hogenson started the game for Prairie du Chien. He pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowed 1 hit, 3 earned runs, whiffed 3 and issued 2 walks.
The win allowed Prairie du Chien to advance to host #6 Cuba City in the Regional Final Thursday, June 2.

Prairie scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning to grab a 3-0 lead.
Cuba City cut the margin to 3-2 with a pair of runs in the top of the second.
The Blackhawks then scored 3 runs in the third and 6 in the fifth to take the victory.
Prairie du Chien had 13 hits and committed no errors. Cuba City had 7 hits and committed 1 error.
Jonathan Dyer was 3x3 with 3 RBIs. Brogan Potter was 3x4 with an RBI. Peyton Hall was 3x4 with a double, a triple and 1 RBI. Chas Sagedahl was 1x3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Jack Wasechek was 1x2 with 2 RBIs. Chad Mara was 1x3 with an RBI. Cory Check was 1x2.
Sagedahl earned the pitching win. He struck out 10 while walking just 1 in 5 innings.
Number 1 seeded Prairie du Chien advanced to take on Number 1 seeded Cambridge in the Division 3 Sectional Semifinal at La Crosse Aquinas on Tuesday, June 7 beginning at 2 p.m. Cambridge defeated Number 3 seeded Wisconsin Heights 4-2 in their Regional Final.
