Prairie du Chien sweeps Onalaska
Prairie du Chien swept a twinbill from visiting Onalaska Friday afternoon at the St. Feriole Island Ballpark in high school baseball action.
Prairie du Chien prevailed in the opener 8-2.
Onalaska scored a run in the top of the first inning but Prairie answered with 2 in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead.
Onalaska tied the game 2-2 with a run in the third.
The Blackhawks scored 3 runs in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and 1 in the sixth to earn the 8-2 victory.
Prairie had 10 hits and committed 2 errors. Onalaska had 4 hits and committed 3 errors.
Casey Hogenson pitched seven strong innings, striking out 3 and walking 3.
Dylan Yeomans was 3x4 with a double, a triple and 2 RBIs. Peyton Hall was 2x4 with a triple, a homer and 2 RBIs. Chas Sagedahl was 2x3. Hunter Sheckler was 1x3 with a homer and 2 RBIs.
Prairie took the nightcap 11-1 in 5 innings behind a 1-hitter by Chas Sagedahl.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first inning.
Prairie then scored 1 run in the second, 2 in the third, 4 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth to gain the win.
Prairie du Chien belted out 15 hits in the contest.
Sagedahl fanned 6 and walked just 1 in his 1-hit gem.
Yeomans was 2x4 with a double, a homer and 3 RBIs. Hogenson was 2x3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Hall was 2x3. Brogan Potter was 3x4 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Sagedahl was 2x3 with a double and 1 RBI. Cory Check was 1x2 with an RBI. Chad Mara was 2x3.
