Jean Brown, 77, of Colesburg, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the Lincolnwood Assisted Living in Edgewood.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 15, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Interment was at Brown Cemetery, Colesburg.

Jean was born on June 19, 1938, in rural Guttenberg, the daughter of Clarence “Rudy” and Mathilda (Nuehring) Geuder.

Jean received her education locally and graduated from Guttenberg High School with the class of 1955. On Sept. 23, 1958, Jean was united in marriage with Russell Brown Jr. This marriage blessed them both with two children, Mark and Mary. Over the years, Jean worked various jobs but spent the majority of her years working as a cook for the Colesburg School. Jean had a great talent and passion for sewing. She was also a gifted baker and known for her cookies. Her other interests included birdwatching, playing cards and spending time with her family. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Mark (Carol) Brown of Colesburg and Mary (Kevin) Klostermann of Dyersville; three grandchildren, Nick (Megan) Brown, Troy (Julie) Brown and Dustin (fiancé, Brittany) Klostermann; four great-grandchildren, Cooper Brown,
Reece Brown, Clayton Klostermann and Riley Christen; sister-in-law, Linda (Pat) Oberbroeckling and their son, Adam. 

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother, Loren Geuder in infancy.
