Vehicle hits embankment
On Wednesday, Jan. 6, at about 10:15 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a one-vehicle crash on Highway 171 near West Point Road in Gays Mills. It was reported by another motorist that the vehicle was on its driver’s side, trapping two occupants inside.
The driver was Sandra Davidson, 60, and the passenger Kenneth C. Davidson, 63, both of Readstown.
Sandra Davidson was operating the 2002 Chevrolet Colorado east on Highway 171 when she met an oncoming vehicle. She steered to give the vehicle more room, when she lost control on the slippery roadway, went into the southbound ditch and struck an embankment. Davidson’s truck rolled onto its driver’s side, where it came to rest. The other vehicle stopped immediately and its driver called law enforcement.
The truck sustained moderate damage in the crash. First responders pushed it upright, allowing the Davidsons to exit. Both were uninjured.
Assisting at the scene were Fry’s Towing and Repair, Occoch Mountain Rescue and the Gays Mills Fire Department.
