Christine R. “Chris” Prew
Christine R. “Chris” Prew, 67, of McGregor passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Thursday, Sept. 10, at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1948 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Jonathan and Ruth (Palzkill) Preston. She married Edward Prew on Feb. 24, 1968 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. She and her husband owned and operated a cleaning service and later Chris managed the Taco Bell restaurant in Prairie du Chien. She retired after working in the bakery at Wal-Mart for several years. Chris was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ed of McGregor; her children, Debra (Sean) Kelley and Lori (John) Angran both of Albia, Iowa, Edward Prew, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.; her brother Jonathan “Sarge” (Carol) Preston of Westlake Village, Calif.; her sister Debra (Rick) Conant of Eagle River; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Niki, Dave, John and Seth, a great grandchild Josie along with her faithful companion Rusty. She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant children, Christopher and Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.
