Sharron Mary Surovy, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 17, in Waterloo, Iowa. 

Sharron was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Barnum, daughter of Howard and Flossie Mae (Nutter) Dalton. She was raised and attended schools in Barnum. Sharron married Paul Surovy on Dec. 30, 1959 in Waukon. They raised five children with Sharron as a full-time homemaker and mom. Sharron will be remembered as a good-hearted, joyful person who was fond of dancing around the house, singing and mystery novels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harlan Dalton; sister, Jenny Burns; brothers-in-law Benny Burns and James Horan. Sharron is survived by her beloved husband, Paul; three sons, William Surovy of Waterloo, David (Shelly) Surovy of Evansdale and Robert (Angie) Surovy of Dunkerton; two daughters Mary Surovy of Waterloo and Paula (Rob) Thome of Raymond; four grandchildren, Sarah Thome, Samantha Thome, Jeremy (Gabriel) Surovy and Jamie (Lindsay) Surovy; two step-grandchildren, B.J. (Sarah) Papenheim and Jennifer Lane; one great-grandson Kayden; one great-granddaughter on the way; one step great-grandchild Jordan; two brothers, Harley Dalton of Prairie du Chien, and Ernie (Lou) Dalton of Barnam; and two sisters Dorothy Horan of Madison, and Darlene (Wayne) Olson of Seneca. Sharron we love and miss you.
